Di Maria: Best is yet to come

Angel Di Maria has claimed that Argentina ‘haven’t reached’ their best level yet, as they prepare for the Last 16.

The South Americans take on Switzerland in Sao Paulo this afternoon, and the Real Madrid winger has insisted that his side can still improve, despite winning three out of three in the group stage.

“We're going from less to more. We haven't reached our best level yet, but I still believe we can win the World Cup,” he told Marca.

“The human team that we have here is fundamental. There is zero friction and during these days living together, we are more united than ever. We feel very strong.”

The Blancos man then commented on his club rival Lionel Messi.

“Leo is the best in the world. What he does nobody else can do and luckily he's ours. He is going to be the World Cup's big goalscorer.

“He's at a tremendous moment, and that's very good but we all catch it off him.”
