Luis Enrique has stopped Barcelona selling left-back Adriano to Roma as he wants the Brazilian to compete with Jordi Alba.
AS cites a report from Corriere dello Sport that says the clubs had agreed a €10m fee for the player, who would have been paid €2.5m a season, but Enrique intervened.
Alba is still considered Barca’s first-choice left-back but Adriano featured 39 times last season as Alba spent time on the sidelines, and also offered cover elsewhere on the field.
AS claim Roma will turn their attention elsewhere, with Valencia’s Juan Bernat one of a number of possible targets.
