Barcelona want Borussia Dortmund midfielder Marco Reus as their major signing of the summer, reports in Spain claim.
Germany international Reus, who was ruled out of the World Cup with an ankle injury, has made a verbal agreement with La Blaugrana, Sport has reported.
Barca will now attempt to do a deal with Dortmund for the player and will start the bidding at €35m.
Reus has been chosen by sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta and President Josep Maria Bartomeu for a number of reasons, it’s said – he is cheaper than Sergio Aguero, only 25-years-old, and versatile.
He is also said to want to move to a League that is more competitive than Germany’s, in the wake of Bayern Munich’s domination of the Division under Pep Guardiola.
