Bayern Munich general director Karl-Heinz Rummenigge says Real Madrid should expect the footballing equivalent of ‘hell’ when they play at the Allianz Arena.
Los Blancos won the first leg of the Champions League semi-final between the sides 1-0 last night but the German has warned the tie is far from being over.
“1-0 was not the result we wanted,” Rummenigge is quoted as saying by Marca. “But I think that next Tuesday, when the return leg begins, Munich will be burning with desire. We will have 70,000 fans supporting the team.
“I didn’t get the impression that the people in charge of Real Madrid were overly happy with the result last night.
“They know what is waiting for them in Munich. In addition, their match in Dortmund wasn’t particularly good!
“I think that at home, Bayern are so strong you could describe it as hell for the opposition.
“Defeat is never good. But a defeat is worth it if it provokes a reaction. And on Tuesday, we will react!”
