Bayern Munich captain Phillip Lahm believes his side can overturn the Champions League first-leg defeat to Real Madrid.
Karim Benzema’s first-half goal gave Los Blancos victory despite Bayern dominating possession for almost the entire match.
Lahm has told German television however that he is confident Bayern can recover next week.
“I’m optimistic that in the Allianz Arena anything is possible for us,” Sport reports Lahm as saying.
“Clearly we wanted to do things better but it was impossible to overcome Madrid’s defence.
“I think we were good in defence but it was clear we couldn’t keep them out for 90 minutes. They’re world-class players.”
