Emilio Butragueno has described Real Madrid’s Champions League opponents Bayern Munich as ‘remarkable.’
The sides were paired together in the semi-final by Luis Figo, who conducted Friday’s draw in Nyon.
“Bayern is a remarkable organization,” Butragueno is quoted as saying by AS.
“They are the current champions and a great team. A great rival.
“It’s the fourth semi-final in a row for Madrid and we hope to reach the final. We trust our players.”
Paul Breitner, formerly of Madrid, was present on behalf of Bayern and added that he retains great feeling for Los Blancos.
“Madrid is my second football family and I have a lot of affection for them,” he revealed.
“Bayern’s goal is to be champions of Europe again.”
The clubs met at the same stage in 2012 with Bayern winning on penalties.
