Emilio Butragueno has warned Real Madrid about thinking they are already in the Champions League semi-final despite beating Borussia Dortmund 3-0.
Madrid will take a comfortable lead to Germany for the second-leg of the quarter-final after goals from Gareth Bale, Isco and Cristiano Ronaldo.
But Butragueno said on Spanish television after the final whistle that Los Blancos need to remember the experience of last season, when they lost 2-1 and 4-1 at Signal Iduna.
“It’s a very good result and a clean sheet but Dortmund are a great team,” Butragueno said.
“It would be foolish to think that Madrid are through.
“We must be happy but remember we still have 90 minutes to play.
“This is the Champions League. 20 bad minutes in Dortmund could change everything.
“Last season we had a nasty experience there so we must be careful.”
