Former Real Madrid goalkeeper Mariano Garcia Remon doesn’t expect Iker Casillas to be happy as a reserve much longer.
Casillas is only now called on for the Copa and occasional Champions League games, with Diego Lopez holding the gloves under Carlo Ancelotti.
Remon made more than 100 appearances as a player for Los Blancos and was briefly Coach in 2004. He told Spanish TV that the goalkeeper situation will inevitably come to a head.
“Casillas is showing great maturity and calm when he plays but inside, I’m sure he’s thinking of leaving if things don’t change,” Remon said.
“If he leaves it won’t be entirely down to him, the club will have their say too.
“I’ve a feeling something will happen when the season is over.”
