Cagliari have announced that they have released goalkeeper Antonio Adan’s contract, after just three months at the club.
The Italian side picked up the 26-year-old on a free transfer in November, on from his summer release by Real Madrid.
However, after mistakes made in his second appearance for the club against Juventus in Week 19, Adan dropped behind Vlada Arvamov in the pecking order and was subsequently rumoured to have asked for an exit this month in order to find regular playing time.
Cagliari have this morning confirmed that they have by mutual consent now rescinded Adan’s contract, which was otherwise due to run through to June 2014.
But the shot-stopper won’t be out of work for long, as Mundo Deportivo report that Real Betis will offer him a deal until the end of the campaign.
