Paris Saint-Germain chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi has denied the French club are lining up a move for Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo.
The likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani have in recent years been brought to Ligue 1 by PSG and it had been claimed by the club’s former sporting director, Leonardo, that they were desperate to sign Ronaldo.
However, al-Khelaifi has rejected the suggestion, insisting he is content with the players available to Coach Laurent Blanc.
“All the players we are dreaming about are already at PSG,” said al-Khelaifi.
“Ronaldo is a huge player we respect a lot. But he is under contract at Real Madrid, who I respect a lot too.
“The day I really want a Real player, believe me I will know to talk to [President] Florentino Perez. It is not the case so far.”
Perez confirmed there had been no contact from PSG regarding Ronaldo, and added that Madrid were not attempting to sign Marco Verratti from PSG. “We are currently not in talks with PSG about any player,” he said.
“We are not in negotiation with PSG over Cristiano or Verratti. Our two clubs have a very good relationship.”
