Real Betis are being linked with a move for Stoke City’s Honduran international Wilson Palacios.
The midfielder has struggled for playing time this season in the Premier League and is seen through reports in Spain today as a target for Los Beticos.
Juan Carlos Garrido’s side, currently at the foot of La Liga, are believed keen to dip into the market for cover for Xavi Torres, who is facing the rest of the season out with an Achilles tendon tear.
It is understood that Palacios has appeared as a target, amid his ambition to find regular playing time ahead of the World Cup in Brazil next summer.
Betis are also seen to be considering a move for San Lorenzo’s Juan ‘Pichi’ Mercier, who also fits the ‘experienced and competitive’ requirement the club are understood to be targeting for midfield recruitments.
A move for either player will reportedly be on an initial six-month loan basis with an option to buy in the summer.
