Real Betis are apparently interested in trying to re-sign Dorlan Pabon from Valencia this mid-season.
Heading into the January transfer window, Los Beticos are seen as after a third striker to support Jorge Molina and Ruben Castro and Superdeporte say they are targeting their former man from last season.
In the second half of last term, Pabon impressed greatly for Betis, before moving on to Monterrey and then quickly returning to La Liga in a €7.5m deal with Valencia.
Struggles for consistency at Mestalla, though, already have speculation over his future emerging and Betis are seen as ready to try and come back in with an offer, should new Coach Juan Antonio Pizzi permit the Colombian’s exit.
Estadio Deportivo reiterate this scenario and also quote Pabon’s agent Ricardo Calleri on the possibility of another move for his client.
“The operation is difficult, but not impossible,” Calleri has commented. “It depends on many factors and we will have to wait.”
Meanwhile, reports in Italy this week also indicate that Pablo Piatti is the subject of keen interest from Catania.
Piatti failed to agree a deal to leave Valencia in the summer, but the Gazzetta dello Sport understand that Serie A’s Sicilian strugglers are interested in a loan move or a low transfer bid for the Argentine.
Betis are also reported as in the market for Leo Baptistao, but face competition on a loan deal for the Atletico Madrid man from his former side Rayo Vallecano.
