San Lorenzo’s reputed anger at Juan Antonio Pizzi’s exit to Valencia may see Los Che lose out to Atletico Madrid on a transfer target.
The Argentine outfit, who this month have seen Pizzi leave as Coach to take over at Mestalla, have also had 18-year-old Angel Correa paired with a possible move to Spain.
Valencia and Atletico Madrid are seen as interested in following through on interest in the forward, but reports in Spain today suggest that Los Colchoneros may have the advantage.
Beyond the financial aspect of Valencia apparently already having a €3m bid for Correa rejected recently, the San Lorenzo board are seen as angered by Pizzi’s decision to leave them for the Mestalla outfit and are not prepared to do further business with the club as a result.
Even with Valencia seemingly out of the picture, except in the case of a ‘stratospheric offer’, Atleti are also seen in Argentina as needing to up their initial offer of €5m for 50 per cent of the player’s rights.
