Elche are reportedly ready to boost survival hopes with midseason bids for Barcelona’s Isaac Cuenca and Atletico Madrid’s Javier Manquillo.
The two youngsters have both been linked with possible loan moves away from their respective clubs this January to increase first-team experience.
Elche, sat in mid-table but only two points above the relegation zone, are reported by Mundo Deportivo as considering offers to Barca and Atleti to take the two players on loan until the end of the season.
Cuenca is still recovering from a second knee operation undergone this summer and has not played since a loan spell for the second half of last term at Ajax.
The 22-year-old, who has been training since October, will require medical clearance from Barca before being allowed to exit.
Meanwhile, Manquillo is highly rated at the Vicente Calderon and it has been reported that Barcelona have a first option to sign him outright in the future, as part of terms agreed for last summer’s move of David Villa.
The 19-year-old has managed only a handful of appearances under Diego Simeone so far this term.
Elche have also been linked with interest in taking Atleti’s Brazilian striker Leo Baptistao on loan.
