Ibai Gomez looks set to become the latest player to extend his contract with Athletic Bilbao by signing on until June 2017.
On from handing long serving duo Carlos Gurpegi and Andoni Iraola 12-month extensions to June 2015, the Basque Country outfit are believed on the verge of announcing a new deal for Ibai.
It is believed that the attacking midfielder has been in talks with Athletic for several months, with an agreement targeted by the end of the calendar year, due to his current deal otherwise expiring in June 2014.
Subsequently, it is seen that negotiations have proven successful and the 24-year-old will be confirmed in the coming days as having committed until June 2017.
Ibai has managed 88 appearances and nine goals for Athletic so far in his career.
