Bayern Munich striker Thomas Muller believes there is a chance a player from the Bundesliga giants could be awarded the Ballon d’Or.
Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo is hot favourite to pick up the trophy when it is presented in early January, although Muller’s teammate at the Allianz Arena, Franck Ribery, is in contention alongside Barcelona’s Lionel Messi.
“Franck wants to impress in eve
ry game and, because he’s such a good player, he usually does,” explained Muller in an interview with FIFA.com.
“However, there is a reason why six players from Bayern Munich have been nominated. It means our performances from last season have been recognised and honoured.
“Therefore, there is every chance that it could be one of us that wins it.”
