Oliver Torres believes that Atletico Madrid’s recent form is based on their ambition, as he looks ahead to the midweek clash with Zenit St Petersburg.
A much-changed selection of players head out this Tuesday evening to Russia for the fifth matchday of the Champions League group stage looking to continue Atleti’s remarkable run of form in all competitions, which has yielded just one defeat this season.
“Atletico are a team that has always been characterised as ambitious, we want to win and we always want more and that is one of the foundations to our success,” Oliver reflected to reporters today.
“We trained very hard during the international break, we are working very well and the team has a positive momentum and the confidence in our game is growing.
“We are strongest as a team and what really matters is the group.
“We face Zenit with the advantage of having secured top spot in the group, so the rotations to the squad are considered.
“Hopefully we will be able to enjoy the game, do well and win.
“As a child you dream about playing in the Champions League and hearing that music. If I am lucky enough to play, I want to take advantage of it and enjoy it.”
