Antonio Adan has explained why he has chosen to continue his career post-Real Madrid in Italy with Cagliari.
The 26-year-old yesterday completed a free transfer to the Sardinian outfit following on from his late summer release from Los Blancos.
“Since I left Madrid, two months ago, I have received a number of offers, but Cagliari’s was the most convincing,” Adan considered in his presentation to reporters today.
“I immediately said yes, because I believe that they are the ideal club for me to continue my career at. I want to grow with this club.
“My reference points are Van de Sar, Buffon and Casillas, with whom I had the honour of sharing a dressing room with and of being his friend.
“I believe that he is the best goalkeeper in the world, over the last five years.
“I have had a good impression of Cagliari. They are a team with a combative temperament and have the potential to have a great season.
“Besides that, life is good here in Cagliari, it is a quiet town and there is the sea nearby, you could not ask for more.”
