Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani hs confirmed “it will be very difficult” for Mario Balotelli and Christian Abbiati to face Barcelona.
Balotelli returned from international duty with a thigh problem and there are reports he could be out for up to three weeks, while Abbiati has a calf strain.
“I have total faith in Professor Enrico Castellacci, so if Italy allowed him to play then they must’ve been convinced he was fit,” Galliani told Sky Sport Italia.
“From what our staff tell us, it will be very difficult for Balotelli and Abbiati to recover in time for Barcelona on Tuesday.
“People say we have multiple muscular injuries, but that’s not true. Only Balotelli and Abbiati are muscular, but most others were fractures and knee operations.”
The Rossoneri host the Blaugrana on Tuesday for their third Champions League group match.
