Marcos Senna has reflected that he sees potential and danger in both his former side Villarreal and their weekend opponents Real Madrid.
The Yellow Submarine host Los Merengues this Saturday evening looking for a first League win over the capital outfit since May 2009.
For their former midfielder now on the books at New York Cosmos, the opportunity may just be there this Week 4 in La Liga.
“I see a game with options for us,” Senna has told AS this week.
“Madrid is Madrid, but this is a dangerous Villarreal because, like Real Madrid, they have won their first three games of the season.
“Madrid are not 100 per cent yet, but that makes them more dangerous.
“If you are over-confident, they will kill you on any play and in form or not, they always have that quality.”
The match could see Gareth Bale debut, having been signed by Madrid in a deal worth between €90m and €100m.
“It is a great motivation to face a player who has cost €100m like Bale, I think it motivates you and makes you head into the game with more desire.”
