Sevilla’s new signing Kevin Gameiro has explained how life at Paris Saint-Germain under Real Madrid Coach Carlo Ancelotti was ‘tough’.
The Frenchman this summer completed a transfer out to La Liga after an indifferent two years at PSG, spent predominantly under the Italian tactician and out of his first-team plans.
“It was hard to experience, hard to understand,” Gameiro has reflected today in an interview released with Canal +.
“It was not a matter of being a starter, it was a matter of playing a little more… When I scored one weekend and the next wasn’t even in the team, it was difficult.
“There was a big disappointment in the Champions League, when I learned that I would not be starting even when no other attackers were in the side.
“From that moment, it is true that it was very difficult. Last year it was hard, but mentally I learned a lot during this time and I think it will be beneficial in the future.
“I missed out on having the confidence of the Coach or the club, and this is what I have found in Seville.”
