Athletic Bilbao forward Ibai Gomez has admitted that his side struggled to score goals last season, but insists that won’t be the case this time around.
Los Leones only managed to find the net 44 times last term, but the 23-year-old is confident that under new Coach Ernesto Valverde, that won’t be a problem.
“Last year we tried to improve defensively which meant it was difficult for us to score,” he told reporters.
“But that is something the whole team are trying to improve on.
“On a personal level, I just want to play as minutes as possible.
“It is imperative that we start the League with a win.”
