Rayo Vallecano have announced via their official website the signing of Real Valladolid striker Alberto Bueno on a two-year deal.
Madrid-born Bueno, 25, is a product of Real Madrid’s youth system and made his full Primera debut against Recreativo de Huelva in November 2008, going on to play a total of five games for Los Blancos.
In 2009 he was transferred to Valladolid, where he featured in 20 games in his debut season before being loaned to Derby County, with whom he scored five goals in 29 matches.
In summer 2011 Bueno returned to Valladolid and became a key part of the squad that achieved promotion to the top flight, and last term notched five goals in 33 League appearances.
Bueno, who can also play on the wing, arrives at the Campo de Futbol de Vallecas to reinforce Pepe Mel’s attacking options and will compete for a place with Joaquin Larrivey, Nery Castillo and Lass Bangoura.
He becomes Rayo’s seventh acquisition of the summer following the arrivals of goalkeeper Ruben Martinez, defenders Johan Mojica and Leonel Galeano, midfielders Raul Baena and Raul Niguez, and forwards Castillo and Larrivey.
