Former Catania playmaker Alejandro Gomez has revealed that he turned down moves to Inter, Fiorentina and Atletico Madrid.
The Argentine midfielder signed for Ukranian club Metalist Kharkiv earlier this afternoon, and the 25-year-old has claimed that he is delighted to have joined Myron Markevych’s men.
“I am very happy,” he told reporters. “I want to thank the leadership of Metalist.
“I decided to move here because this is a serious club – we have the intention of growing each year.
“I also want to play in the Champions League.
“I received proposals from Inter and Fiorentina in Italy, and also Atletico Madrid.”
