Sevilla striker Kevin Gameiro saw his first training session with his new club end early, after picking up an injury.
The 26-year-old last week completed a €7.5m transfer to Los Nervionenses and yesterday evening was due to take part in a first workout.
Attended by 500 fans, the team’s first session back at the Ciudad Deportiva Cisneros Palacios after their tour of South America saw the new striker pull out early on, complaining of a sore groin.
The club have since reported that the player has suffered a grade I injury that will keep him out of action for a week.
It means that the player will likely miss Sevilla’s first official fixture of the new season, the first leg of their Europa League third qualifying round match at home to Mladost Podgorica this Thursday.
