Kevin Gameiro has welcomed the pressure put on him at Sevilla, as he explains why he chose the club over other options.
The Frenchman has this week completed a move from Paris Saint-Germain to Los Nervionenses for a fee that the Spanish have reported as a cash payment of €7.5m.
Expected to act as Alvaro Negredo’s primary replacement, the 26-year-old has encouraged fans to place their expectation on him.
“I am a player who is fast, with depth, I like to play and score goals,” began Gameiro at his presentation.
“I’m very happy with the expectation of the fans and I came here because I want to play, after the past two years, and to help this team with many goals.
“I am here because Sevilla are an important club that plays good football and I like the philosophy that they have proposed.
“The first impressions are very good, the city is very nice and I hope that my family also likes it.”
