Sevilla have made official the signing of Paris Saint-Germain forward Kevin Gameiro on a five-year contract.
Following on from the completion of Alvaro Negredo’s sale to Manchester City last week, the Andalucians were quickly linked with the French striker.
A fee was soon agreed with PSG for the 26-year-old, believed to be at an initial figure of between €8m and €10m, and the player flew out to Seville to undergo medical tests in midweek.
Thursday has now seen Los Nervionenses confirm his arrival through a statement released on their official website.
“Kevin Gameiro, the French striker, 26, has now become a new player of Sevilla, after passing a medical examination and signing his new contract, which will link him to Los Nervionenses for the next five seasons,” posted Sevilla.
“The striker, who will have a buyout clause of €40m, landed in Seville on Tuesday from Sweden, where he had been based with his former club Paris Saint-Germain.
“Gameiro will be presented this evening at 8.30pm [Spanish time] at the Sanchez Pizjuan, where fans can see him for the first time with the Sevilla shirt.”
