Thiago Alcantara has informed Barcelona that he would like to join former boss Pep Guardiola at Bayern Munich.
The 22-year-old is believed to have conveyed his request to the Barca hierarch on Friday evening, something they had been expecting 24 hours earlier after Bayern President Karl-Heinz Rummenigge admitted the Germans wanted to sign him following Guardiola’ Press conference.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the Germans are willing to pay the €18m release clause for the Spanish international midfielder and a deal could be agreed as early as Saturday, although La Blaugrana are understood to want more in the way of a transfer fee.
The player himself would like any agreement to be wrapped up as soon as possible, basically because he does not want to have to line up for next week’s Barca team photo alongside his present teammates and the coaching staff.
