Argentine defender Federico Fabio is set to remain with Sevilla after looking likely to leave Los Nervionenses this summer.
The player’s agent had already indicated he would be leaving the Sanchez Pizjuan but, after a conversation with club President Jose Maria Del Nido, he is now likely to sign a deal that will see him remain with the Andalusians until 2018.
“It was very fast and incredible. I had several options to leave a few months ago and to be honest I saw myself more out of the club than in, with the things that were happening.
“However, I had a meeting with the President just after returning from holiday and now there are no problems.
“We are going on tour and when we come back everything will be sorted out and I’ll have no problem renewing my contract until 2018,” he told Marca.
