Real Madrid have reportedly put forward to Paris Saint-Germain the prospect of swapping Xabi Alonso with Marco Verratti.
The young Italian international is reportedly former PSG and new Madrid Coach Carlo Ancelotti’s primary request for midfield this transfer window.
Reports from Italy today suggest that Los Blancos are looking at ways to try and pick up the 20-year-old, who is otherwise in contract renewal talks with the French side.
One hypothesis apparently put forward to the Parc des Princes outfit has been to send Xabi Alonso to them in part exchange for the youngster.
Alonso, who has put off contract renewal talks at the Santiago Bernabeu until later in the year, is currently going to be a free agent in June 2014.
The former Liverpool man is also reportedly a target this summer of former Madrid boss Jose Mourinho’s new team Chelsea.
