Julen Lopetegui praised his Spain squad for their competitive spirit and preparedness from each player to perform when called upon.
A number of changes to La Rojita did not prevent them from defeating France 2-1 in their final FIFA U-20 World Cup Group A match to finish on maximum points from the three games played.
“We are happy because all the players have participated and because of the performance they have provided,” Lopetegui commented at full-time.
“We can be satisfied, we believe greatly in the strength of the group and the individuals that are at the service of the group.
“Everyone who has played against an opponent as demanding as France has shown a lot of personality. All in the group have their ears pricked, waiting for their chance, and that’s good for everyone.
“I’m very interested to see who we will face next. Now we will analyse the game we have just played and then start thinking of the future.
“There are a couple of days of rest and that suits us fine.
“The knockout stage will be tough, for sure. It’s a World Cup and every World Cup match is difficult.”
