Paco Alcacer has reflected that he is eager to make the most of any opportunity given to him at the FIFA U-20 World Cup.
The Valencia man has been on the bench for La Rojita’s opening two Group A wins in Turkey, but is speculated as in line for a call-up for tomorrow’s match with France, with progression to the Round of 16 already ensured.
“I want to respond to Lopetegui for the opportunity he has given me to be at the World Cup. And like me, the rest,” enthused Alcacer to reporters today.
“The team has been improving, there is a lot of quality and a lot of camaraderie. That’s what matters.
“I am aware that in front of me there are two or three players right now, but if I play then I want to show the Coach that he can count on me.
“I have to take advantage of the opportunities I am given to the fullest, and give 100 per cent in every game I play.
“France have a very good team, from the goalkeeper through to the bench. For us, winning two games straight in the group has been very important.
“We are very pleased to be in the second round. The 11 players who will face France will make every effort.”
