Rodgers calm over Luis Suarez

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has claimed that the club have 'complete control of the situation' with regards to Luis Suarez's potential departure.

The Uruguay international has been heavily linked with a move away from Anfield this summer, with the player himself admitting an interest in joining Real Madrid.

But the Northern Irish tactician has insist that the Premier League club know what they're doing.

“Quite simply, the club has full control of the situation,” he told Talksport.

“I will always listen to players and work closely with them. I will always listen to their point of view.

“But the last word goes to the club.

“We are trying to build something here and Luis is a very important part of that.

“Sometimes journalists highlight the worst parts, but Luis Suarez has always said in interviews how much he loves Liverpool.

“I am very calm about it.

“I know that he has the support of the people of Liverpool.”
