Grande admits to Xavi ‘differences’

Spanish national team assistant Toni Grande has admitted that the management have had differences with Xavi in the past.

The Barcelona midfielder is currently the most decorated footballer on the planet at the moment, having won seven Liga titles, three Champions Leagues, two European Championships and a World Cup.

But the 65-year-old has conceded that the playmaker is often the first to speak out against the management.

“It is true that we have had our differences with Xavi,” he told Diario de la Roja. “Sometimes he just can't keep quiet.

“He told us he was interested in playing more with one [player] than an other. But he always talks out for the good of the team.

“He always believes that what he says will be for the benefit of the team.

“As a top footballer, he worries about all these things. He likes to have the ball all of the time.”
