Portuguese superagent Jorge Mendes is being linked with signing up Atletico Madrid’s Oliver Torres to his portfolio.
Mendes, who represents a number of notable names in the game including Cristiano Ronaldo, Radamel Falcao, Jose Mourinho, Hulk, Thiago Silva and Jose Moutinho, is reportedly keen to recruit Atleti’s 18-year-old to his agency, Gestifute.
Oliver is seen as Los Colchoneros’ rising star and was handed a small number of appearances last season for the senior side.
Currently with the Spain squad at the FIFA U-20 World Cup, the creative midfielder has reportedly had his representative Pablo Barquero rebuff Mendes’ initial approach.
Oliver and Atletico are both described as having a strong working relationship with Barquero, who was involved in the player’s recent contract extension to June 2017, and currently are not considering a change.
However, Mendes, who has a history of working with Atleti, is believed to still be pressing to try and pick up the youngster.
