Espanyol midfielder Joan Verdu is on the verge of agreeing to join Olympiacos for the next two seasons.
The 30-year-old Barcelona-born player said goodbye to Los Periquitos at a Press conference after failing to reach agreement on his renovation at Cornella El-Prat, reports AS.
It is understood that Verdu, who arrived from Deportivo de La Coruna in 2009 after beginning his career with Barcelona, also had an offer from Real Betis on the table but turned it down in favour of Champions League football with the Greeks next season.
Olympiacos are now coached by former Getafe and Sevilla boss Michel, who took over at the Karaiskakis Stadium just two weeks after being axed by the Andalusians in late January this year.
