Sevilla winger Luis Alberto believes Barcelona’s Gerard Deulofeu would be an ideal replacement for the departed Jesus Navas.
Navas joined Manchester City this week and Luis Alberto, who spent last season on loan with Barcelona B, hopes to follow in his footsteps with a move to the Premier League.
However, Sevilla are unwilling to let him leave for a small fee and with the Anfield giants having offered a four-year contract negotiations between the clubs are still set to continue.
Nonetheless, the 20-year-old told Mundo Deportivo that former Barca B teammate Deulofeu would be good substitute for Navas.
“With Jesus Navas gone Sevilla now need a winger. It’s a position that is now free and Gerard would be a great replacement. But he’s a smart guy and he’ll go wherever it suits him,” he explained.
Luis Alberto also admitted his greatest wish would have been to continue at Barca.
“I would have liked to carry on, who wouldn’t? But it was very difficult, almost impossible, although I had a good year and I hope people enjoyed me.”
