Diego Lopez is reportedly willing to ask Real Madrid to sell him this summer, despite having played as first choice since arriving in January.
The 31-year-old was brought back to the Santiago Bernabeu during the winter transfer window as cover for Iker Casillas, who underwent surgery in January on a fractured hand.
Despite holding on to the starting spot in the team after Casillas’ return to full fitness, amid the latter’s reported poor relationship with Coach Jose Mourinho, Lopez is reportedly keen to leave this summer.
The former Sevilla man apparently believes that Mourinho’s exit in the summer will return Casillas to the regular starting spot and relegate him to a bench role.
Mundo Deportivo assess that Lopez believes he can take a first-team spot elsewhere in Europe and that he reportedly has two options open to him – Milan in Serie A, or Mourinho’s rumoured next club, Chelsea in the Premier League.
