Robert Acquafresca has conceded that the match fixing investigation against Levante is doing the team ‘no good’, but that they must focus on their work.
Los Granotes are being investigated for allegedly fixing their 4-0 home defeat to Deportivo in mid-April.
“We have to do well in the field, what is outside remains outside. The players have to work in the field,” determined Acquafresca to Superdeporte this week.
“I regret what is being said and written as it does no good to my team, the authorities must investigate, but that is not my job.
“This situation has happened in Italy, it was a mess and I think it is still a mess, when it happens it undeniably has repercussions later on, I hope not to see it happen again.
“We know there is a bad situation and we must be strong and overcome it through our work, I hope that everyone is clean and everything is resolved.
“Whatever happens in the future I do not know, I just want to work.
“My future? The important thing for me is to stay focused until the end of the season.
“Bologna and Genoa will talk about my future. At the moment I do not know anything.”
