Rayo Vallecano striker Raul Tamudo has admitted that it will be a 'special and beautiful occasion' when he comes up against Espanyol on Saturday.
The veteran forward played for the Periquitos for 13 years between 1997 and 2010, appearing in over 300 games and scoring upwards of 100 goals.
And the 35-year-old has conceded that he cannot wait to face his former club this weekend.
“I have always played to win,” he told reporters. “Whether that's against Espanyol or any other team.
“A footballer always wants to play, but for me this is going to be an extra special game. It will be beautiful.
“I spent a lifetime at Espanyol, so it will be nice to play against them.
“There are very few players who are still there from my time. They are a side that has changed a lot.”
