Robin van Persie is back fit for Manchester United in time for their clash with Real Madrid next week, whilst Phil Jones could also be available.
Van Persie was a doubt for the second leg of the Champions League Last 16 clash with Los Blancos next Tuesday, after suffering an unusual injury last weekend.
In setting up United’s opening goal at Queens Park Rangers, the Dutchman fell into a camera pit on the side of the pitch and injured his hip.
However, he has fully recovered and is set to play this weekend for the English side against Norwich, meaning he is also available in midweek.
“Robin van Persie has trained this week – he's available for tomorrow. His hip was very tender but he's OK now,” confirmed manager Sir Alex Ferguson today.
Meanwhile, Ferguson also commented on the latest regarding Phil Jones’ ankle injury. Originally thought to have ruled him out of facing Cristiano Ronaldo and company, it has been suggested today that he may be back.
“Phil Jones starts running today. He’s got a fight on his hands to be ready for Tuesday [Real Madrid] but we’ll give him every chance. He won’t be available for tomorrow.”
