Sevilla are reportedly the latest La Liga side interested in making a move for Espanyol’s Joan Verdu this summer.
The creative midfield talent is out of contract in the summer and has already confirmed that he will only resume talks over a renewal at Cornella-El Prat after Los Pericos guarantee their League status for 2013-14.
Already linked with Atletico Madrid, it is now suggested by Mundo Deportivo that Sevilla’s sporting director Monchi and Coach Unai Emery have identified the 29-year-old as a summer reinforcement.
Expecting to sell Ivan Rakitic at the end of the season to raise funds to help cover the club’s debt, Sevilla are understood to have handed Verdu a three-year contract offer to move to the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan in June.
Swansea City are also listed as an interested party for the player.
