Valencia Coach Ernesto Valverde has reportedly delayed talks over extending his contract beyond the end of the season.
The 49-year-old was brought in at Mestalla last December to replace Mauricio Pellegrino and has overseen an improvement in League form and a return to contention for Champions League qualification.
The Coach’s contract expires in the summer, but he has yet to open talks with the club over a new deal.
AS report today that this hesitancy is a result of the uncertainty that surrounds President Manuel Llorente and sporting director Braulio Vazquez’ positions at the club.
With the club’s economic situation still in the balance, with the city council having taken over responsibility for an €86m debt and effectively 72.5 per cent of the shares in the club, Valverde is seen as reluctant to sign a new deal until he knows who he will be working with next year.
