Manchester United midfielder Phil Jones believes that his side could have taken a second goal back to Old Trafford, from their draw against Real Madrid.
The English played out a 1-1 draw at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday evening to take back to Old Trafford an away goal advantage in this Last 16 Champions League meeting.
However, Jones, who played predominantly against Cristiano Ronaldo in the game, felt that his side could have taken a second goal back, even if he also saw that the draw was a fair reflection.
“I’m happy with the draw, it was a fair outcome. I think the draw is a fair result for both teams,” commented Jones to reporters afterwards.
“They are a great team, we know they will always create chances and we defended very well all over the field. In the second half we played very well.
“We should have scored one more goal and we would have gotten a different game then. At Old Trafford we will have to repeat the performance again.”
