Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic has suggested that Barcelona are interested in him and have already made contact over a possible move.
The Bosnian youngster impressed last season in Serie A, but has been linked with a move away from the Italian capital this year due to indifferent spells in and out of the team under Zdenek Zeman.
“It’s true, Barcelona are tracking me and enquired about my situation with my club,” the 22-year-old has told Spanish news agency EFE this week.
“They were watching me during the game with Fiorentina. It is Roma who have to decide, as the clubs deal with these matters.
“In any case, it is clear that Barcelona are a team everyone would like to play for and it is an honour that they are interested in me.”
In Italy, reports are also actively suggesting that Pep Guardiola would like Pjanic with him at Bayern Munich next season.
