Juan Carlos Garrido has reflected that he tries to apply all that he has learned from Manuel Pellegrini into his coaching.
Garrido spent eight years on and off as Villarreal B’s Coach, overlapping with Pellegrini’s tenure in charge of the first team.
Now overseeing Club Brugge, the 43-year-old enthused on a training break back in Spain this week of his admiration for the current Malaga tactician.
“I learned a lot from Manuel Pellegrini. I worked with him for several years and learned much,” reflected Garrido to AS today.
“And what I have learned I have tried to apply. He is one of the best Coaches I have ever met. I hold him in the highest regard.
“His work this season at Malaga is fantastic, awesome. The work of Manuel and his Coach Jose Cabello, has been extraordinary. What they are doing is amazing.
“He has kept that team at a high level and has had them continue to progress despite the economic problems.”
