Diego Lugano is set to finalise a six-month loan from Paris Saint-Germain to Malaga today, subject to a medical examination.
The centre-back has been linked with a move to La Rosaleda this month but terms of what percentage of Lugano’s wage Malaga would pay during his loan reportedly proved problematic to agree on.
However, the defender has turned up at Malaga airport today and is moments away from completing a six-month temporary switch to the Anchovies.
Lugano will take a medical examination today before signing off on the loan deal that Malaga do not have an option to make permanent at the end of the season.
“First we must formalise the checkup, but for how well Malaga have done this season, to play here for six months was very tempting,” Lugano told reporters upon his arrival in the south of Spain today.
“It will be very nice to be involved in this project, it’s a challenge.”
