Spain Coach Vicente del Bosque has refused to wade into the debate regarding Real Madrid Coach Jose Mourinho and ‘keeper Iker Casillas.
Mourinho controversially dropped Casillas for Antonio Adan in Malaga last Saturday, his team subsequently suffering their fourth La Liga defeat of the season and slipping 16 points behind title rivals Barcelona.
“That’s the Coach’s decision,” Del Bosque stated in an interview with Deportes Cuatro. “I have nothing to say, it should not surprise us at all. I guess he will have done it thinking of what is best for the team.
“It depends, all players are eligible,” was the former Madrid boss’s reply when asked if Adan could feature for the national side.
Lastly Del Bosque gave a quick summation of his thoughts on the title race.
“There is a big gap but lots of competition ahead. And Atletico [Madrid] have logical aspirations to challenge Barca.”
