Spain unveiled a new home shirt that will be worn at next summer’s Confederations Cup and, reportedly, it has not been well received by supporters.
The new jersey was released to the media yesterday and is most notable for the large yellow ‘v’ marked out from the collar and across the chest.
Dividing the team’s badge and world champions’ crest, this aspect has proven unpopular with fans, with AS reporting that a 91 per cent majority from an online survey do not like the new design.
Current world and double European champions La Roja are scheduled to wear the shirt, made once more by Adidas, at the 2013 Confederations Cup in Brazil.
The kit, which is said to pay tribute to a similar design the 1924 Olympic football team wore, also represents a return to a lighter blue for the team’s shorts.
