Rayo Vallecano-owned Rafa Garcia has explained that the heart abnormality that has prevented him from playing was ‘just a scare’.
The midfielder is on loan at Xerez this season but in the second week of September was temporarily held back from playing when tests continued from the summer revealed that he had a heart abnormality.
However, the club’s chief doctor has now described it as a ‘normal alteration’ with no ‘established condition’ in place to prevent his ‘return to the sport as normal’.
“The important thing is that I am here,” Garcia told reporters today. “I am relieved because fortunately it was just a shock.
“I have wanted to return to playing as soon as possible. I’ve spent this month doing nothing.”
The 26-year-old confirmed that he has a specific training programme now in place to help him recover full fitness as soon as possible.
